  • Happy New Year to all the Awana Leaders!

As some of leaders know, we are having a new year's leader gathering and
    prayer meeting this coming Sunday.
I just want to announce here, too, in case you don't check your email often.

We are having an Awana Leader's gathering this coming Sunday from 3pm to 5pm at my house.

We will have a BBQ and then Praise and Prayer,
and some important announcements for the new semester.
So please mark your schedules - see you all then!

    2007-2008 Sarang Awana Leader Training

    Wednesday, August 29, 2007 [TONIGHT]
    6:00 PM
    Sarang Church outside Labri Cafe
    One-time Fee: $20

Last Sunday, many people wanted to know how to become leaders for this year, and when the training would take place. This training is mandatory if you want to be a leader this year and have not attended a training previously this summer. So please come on time so we can start with dinner and then move on to training right after!

*Also, we are looking for new praise team members, so if you have the passion to lead praise for the children, please let one of the directors know, and you also must attend a training.

  • Hello Awana leaders, how have you been doing?
    How was your summer vacation?
Summer is about to end soon, and we as Awana leaders have to re-gather our thoughts and prayers, and get ready for another new year!
    How exciting!!! :)

Before I make more announcements,  I would like to congratulate all the 2007 high school senior leaders,
Freddy Ahn, Elizabeth Choi, Emily Choi, Ruth Chun, Alex Kim, Hana Kim, Audrey Park, and Esther Park,
for your job well done. On behalf of Sarang Awana Ministry, thank you for all the hard work you did throughout the years, spreading God's love to Awana kids. Most of you can't come on Wednesdays to Sarang because you guys are going far off to college, or have other places you need to go. We will miss you so much, but we are glad that you made it this far, and hope you'll enjoy the next few years. I'm so proud of you and we will continue to pray for your success and I hope you will also continue to pray for your Awana kids and for the Awana Ministry.
God bless you all wherever you go!

For the 2007-2008 Sarang Awana Club

As most of you know, we had our first leaders' training in June.
The 2nd leaders' training (for those people who missed the first) will be on Wednesday, August 29, at church.
It will start at 6:00 pm with dinner. If you want to become an Awana leader for this year, you shouldn't miss this training.
What we are looking for in leaders is a heart for children, with the desire to serve them by sharing God's word and showing the love of God.
Leaders should make sacrifices for time commitments such as Awana Olympic Games training and Awana Bible Quiz preparations.

Also, I understand that sometimes you have to sacrifice your time of hanging out with friends and peers, but what I want to tell you is that the Awana Ministry is not an additional sunday children's worship service, nor not just any children's ministry. Its purpose is to reach out to children who may not know Jesus in schools or through neighbors, and to touch their hearts with God's love and bring them and their family to Christ.

And leaders should be able to accept instructions from their club directors (T&T: Robert Tsuruya, Sparks: Shawn Kim, Cubbies: Mrs. Kim SMN) so that through teamwork, the ministry work will be done in order.

If you want more information, contact Robert Tsuruya, Shawn Kim, or Sarah Kim.

    Again,

    2007-2008 Sarang Awana Leader Training

Hope to see you then :)

  • Hey Awana Leaders!
It's been a while since I posted something here.

I want to make an announcement for the upcoming event.
As all of you would know if you came to the meeting last week or today, this Sunday is the leaders' training day.
Please meet in the Vision Plaza at 1:40 pm on Sunday, the 18th of March, for rides to my house.
After lunch, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, we will have trainng. This is mandatory leader training for all the leaders from Cubbies, Sparks and T&T. Also, those of you who have brought friends from time to time to join as a Sarang Awana leader, those friends must come to this training in order to become a leader.

Please don't be late. We like to see how dedicated you are as an Awana leader. One essential quality is to be on time. So make sure to mark your calendars and set time aside for training! From there, we will have important announcements about the remaining events in the semester, including prayer mountain, as well as the new, upcoming year.

Alright, so see you guys on Sunday! God bless you all throughout the rest of this week!

The banquet will be held until about 5:30pm. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes tomorrow because we will have a few games in the park and tomorrow's weather is going to be sunny and hot, around 93 degrees :)

We will have a great time of fellowship!

    Games
    Prayer

And we are starting to get registration for Awana tomorrow morning at the vision plaza.

  • Words can't explain how I feel about what happened yesterday...
I just still can't believe it was real.

Tim Kim, you know how much I loved to be with you and always wanted you to be our Awana Leader. And you were such a helpful person and fun to be around.

You are a good kid, Tim.

Do you know what I was thinking yesterday when I went to your candlelight service?
I felt as though it should've been for somebody else's and you should be there to come and stay with us and I could even imagine you were sitting on the floor and saying I can't believe this and wipe out a few tears from your eyes and get up and run outside.
    That should've been you.

I don't know how I can accept that you are not with us here.
I still remember when your mom said to me that you said you liked me more than your mom...Thanks, Tim, for your love and your trust.

You are like my son, a son full of play but still loving.
You will always be in my heart.

I will see you again very shortly because life on this earth is like a blink of an eye.
And I am not sad about you because you are in good hands with Him.
I'm glad that you must've found all those answers to your questions.

Farewell, Tim, I will see you there.

"What's up, JSN !" -high five-
    "Hey, Tim!"

  • Sarang Awana Leader 2006 Training
June 21-22 at Grace Prayer Mountain

Our T-shirt logo was NO SONG NO FOOD (which was about how everyone needed to sing before they got food) but really, if we didn't have Song JSN, we wouldn't have food! :) Let's always appreciate her because she's awesome! We had delicious sandwiches and Bul-go-gi and NANGMYUN!!! It's all because Song JSN made it possible.

Awww...I was out to take pictures for the Sparky group but look who I found on the way.
It was Calvin piggybacking Victoria who fell down running with the Sparky group. Thanks, Calvin, it was much appreciated!

And we will see how God will lead us from there.
Thank You guys and God Bless All of You!

John 15 5-8

"I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples."
